Discover therichhistory and culture of Amelia Island, a tiny paradise with a bigplacein Florida’s history books. Housed in the historic NassauCountyjail,the Amelia Island Museum of History showcases the island’s 4,000 years of Florida history!
Although, just 2 miles wide by 12 miles long, the island’s location attracted settlers, as well as our eight flags of occupation.
The Museum offers modern exhibits, educational lectures, historic walking tours, ghost tours and Elder hostel programs. As the first spoken history museum in the state of Florida, we continue our storytelling tradition through twice daily docent-led tours that highlight the eight flags history.
